Week 6, Day 4 Devotional

Day Four:
Read: Acts 12:1-25

Reflect:
1)       Which James did Herod kill?
a.        James the brother of John
b.       James the brother of Andrew
c.        James the brother of Jesus
d.       James the brother of Barnabas

2)     The story of Peter’s escape from prison was certainly supernatural but God did not simply teleport him out of his predicament. God certainly promises to guide us in our struggles however, he also expects us to play an active role.  Have you been an active participant in your struggles or do you expect God to do all of the legwork?

3)    Herod dies for not giving God the glory when he is praised.  Do you give glory to God for all of the amazing things He has enabled you to do?

To Memorize:
That was the last straw. God had had enough of Herod's arrogance and sent an angel to strike him down. Herod had given God no credit for anything. Down he went. Rotten to the core, a maggoty old man if there ever was one, he died.
