Day Three:
Read
Acts 4:1-22
Reflect:
1) In the beginning of chapter four Peter is
put in a tough situation when the priests arrest him. As he is asked to explain himself verse eight
says that he is filled with the Holy Spirit as he speaks. Reflect on some situations you have felt the
Holy Spirit enter your speech and get you out of trouble.
2) In verse 11 Peter eloquently refers to
Jesus as the corner stone that was rejected by the builders (the Jews who were
the chosen people of God). In what ways
today do you still resist God and His will for your life? What are your fears about fully surrendering
to Him?
3) How did Peter and John respond when the
chief priests threatened to punish him for telling people about Jesus?
a. He trembled in fear
b. He agreed and gave up preaching Jesus
c. He rejected their wishes in boldness
To
Memorize:
“This Jesus is the stone that was
rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for
there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
